SINGER One Easy-to-Use Computerized Sewing Machine

The Singer One reflects back on the first Singer machines with its elegant design and filigree markings. But this is a very modern machine with super easy-to-use features. It works equally well for sewing clothing, quilting, and home decorations. Both beginning sewers and those with a lot of experience will find a lot to love about the Singer One.

You can start sewing right away with the automatic needle threader and auto-winding drop-in bobbin. The presser foot sensor makes sure the presser foot is in the correct position for your project. The extra-high presser foot lifter makes it a lot easier to quilt and move fabric on the large 14.7-inch workspace.

The One has 24 pre-programmed stitches. Select one by touching it on the front of the machine. It will light up. The small LCD window will acknowledge the stitch size you’ve set. While you work, the 3 LED lights do a great job of illuminating what you’re stitching without heating up your workspace.

Out of the 24 built-in stitches, 6 are for normal garment sewing, and 12 are decorative. There are also 4 stretch stitches and 2 for 1-step buttonhole making. The One has a free arm design that makes hemming cuffs and sleeves a breeze. Although it struggles a little when sewing thick materials like denim, the One lays down neat stitches, even on stretchy synthetics.

If you would like even more pre-programmed stitches and the ability to monogram, take a look at the Singer One Plus described below.

More features of the Singer One sewing machine:

  • Singer offers a 25-year limited warranty
  • Video tutorials available online
  • Comes with All-Purpose Foot, Blind Hem Foot, Satin Stitch Foot, One-step Buttonhole Foot, Zipper Foot, Needles, Bobbins, Spool Pin Felt, Auxiliary Spool Pin, Thread Spool Caps, Needle Plate Screwdriver, Lint Brush/Seam Ripper, Instruction Manual, Foot Control, Power Cord, and Soft-Sided Cover

SINGER One Plus 221-Stitch Computerized Sewing Machine with LCD Screen and Instructional DVD

The Singer One Plus has the same vintage body design as the Singer One, but it packs new surprises inside. For one, it has 231 built-in stitches, including alphabet letters and numbers. If you like to do home decoration projects, this machine was made for you. It excels at quilting, appliqueing, and garment sewing and personalization.

While the Singer One Plus has the same automatic needle threading and drop-in auto-winding bobbin as the Singer One, it takes easy operation to a new level. The twin needles can be programmed to halt in the highest position or in the downward position. This makes it simple to either remove material from the machine or pivot fabric.

Like the Singer One, the One Plus has a large 14.7-inch free arm work space. This makes everything from sewing sleeves to quilting so much easier to do. The 3 LED lights do a great job of illuminating the free arm. Plus, this machine is on the heavy side so it stays put where you’re working.

When you select a stitch on the One Plus, you can elongate some of them up to three times their normal length. The maximum width also ranges up to 7mm. The machine has the ability to memorize combinations of stitches so you can repeat a personalized design. With a top speed of 750 stitches-per-minute, a one-push Tacking Stitch Button, and automatic thread cutting, it won’t take you long to finish your next project.
