LaserPecker 2 vs Pro Review

LaserPecker offers two lightweight laser engravers, the LaserPecker 2 and the Pro. Both offer excellent features but we will be comparing them based on what kind of materials they can engrave, safety, and product warranty. We will base our recommendation on user skill level as well as project needs.

LaserPecker 2

LaserPecker 2

The LaserPecker 2 is a versatile laser engraver. It offers amazing capabilities with engraving different shaped materials, works with the major operating systems, and features excellent safety functions.

Versatility

The LaserPecker 2 offers versatility in engraving. It is capable of 360 degree engravings on cylindrical objects like water bottles. It can engrave on uneven surfaces.  Additionally, it offers mobile engraving. With the ability to move during engraving, it has a maximum engraving range of 100 x 2000 mm. It has a small size, making it an excellent choice for those who are on the go with their engraving.

The engraver works well with cutting  materials like wood, acrylic, leather, and paper as long as they are under 5 mm thick. Users will have to set it to 100% power and depth and run the engraver multiple times. It will not work well with glass as it will simply reflect the laser. Users will need to treat the surface with paint or a marker before engraving and then clean it off after. The LaserPecker 2 can engrave cardboard, paper, acrylic, wood, and leather. It does have limitations and cannot engrave gold, copper, silver, brass, or reflective materials.

Power

The machine has 60 W power with a 5 W laser module output. It features a 450 nm NICHIA diode laser with a 0.05 mm laser spot. Engraving speed is 36,000 mm/min. Preview speed is 3750 mm/min. Resolution is 1k/1.3k/2k.

Other Features

The engraver features a high-speed Bluetooth 5.0 connection interface. It works with both Android and iOS mobile operating systems as well as Windows and Mac desktop operating systems. It works with multiple file formats, including JPG, SVG, PNG, BMP, G-Code, CAD, CDR, DWG, and more.

The unit includes many safety features. The package comes with safety goggles, which decreases the user’s expenses. It features a protective shield, overheating protection, overheat shutdown, a laser indicator, motion detection, and a password lock.

The machine also comes with a 12-month guarantee.

LaserPecker Pro

LaserPecker Pro

The LaserPecker Pro is an enclosed laser engraver. It offers features such as the ability to engrave on a wide variety of materials, in-app editing, and advanced safety features.

Like the LaserPecker 2, the Pro offers excellent safety features like goggles, overheat shutdown, motion detection, and password lock. They are both lightweight models for ease of moving around. A major difference is that the Pro cannot work with cylindrical objects.

Materials

The Pro engraves on a variety of materials, including wood, paper board, leather, fabric, leather, cloth, fruit, and more. Plastic will need to be painted with oil-based paint or whiteboard pen before engraving. Users will then have to clean the surface once engraving is completed.

In-App Editing

It offers in-app editing with many picture editing tools. Users can create patterns and words and modify pictures or photos to engrave. In Preview Mode users can size, rotation angle, and position of the image on the target surface by projecting a target laser. This engraver can engrave on almost any surface and on small objects.

Other Features

LaserPecker Pro features an accurate light spot of 0.15 mm and a high-quality blue-violet laser of 405 nm. It also features no limit on engraving height. The Pro can work with a power bank. Users can wirelessly control the engraver through a Bluetooth connection. It has a 10,000+ hour lifespan for extended use. It features an engraving range of 10 x 10 cm. The Pro works with JPG, PNG, BMP, and G-Code file formats. Photo and Vector are both supported.

Amazing accessories can be chosen. There is an auto-focusing support stand that has a built-in sensor that measures the distance between the laser and the target. It will automatically adjust the height so that the focal point is the right distance from the object to be engraved. Users can get magnetic protective shields that will protect their eyes from the laser. They will not have to wear protective eyewear while observing the progress of engraving. There is also the option to obtain a large case that will hold all of the accessories.

The LaserPecker Pro comes with 30 days of free replacement parts as well as a 1-year warranty. Owners can call for lifetime technical support.

Our Recommendation

It is clear that both of these engravers offer excellent features; however, we must delineate between the differences before users make a purchasing decision. The LaserPecker 2 offers excellent versatility in what it can engrave, has a variety of safety features, and supports a vast list of file types. We recommend it for users who have advanced projects that need completion.

On the other hand, the LaserPecker Pro offers in-app editing, excellent accessory upgrades, and great customer support. We recommend this engraver for beginners.
