Makita LS1016l 10 Inch Dual Slide Compound Miter Saw with Laser

There are some people who would want to make sure that their miter saw will always be set at its maximum power because they would like things to be done fast. The Makita LS10161 is a strong miter saw and it is also known to be the largest one available. Its size can be an advantage and a disadvantage at the same time. Since it is large, it is known to be strong and can handle various materials with ease. The fact that it is big can be a disadvantage because bringing it to different areas even around the work place can become a big problem.

Advantages of the Makita LS1016l 10 Inch Dual Slide Compound Miter Saw with Laser

  • One of the advantages of this model is the Four Steel Rail Sliding. This will make it possible for the saw to cut through various materials perfectly. The rigidity of cutting through the materials can also be improved greatly by this feature.
  • The six linear ball bearings make it possible for the miter saw to make more accurate cuts with the projects that would have to be made. I have tried using the six linear ball bearings and I was pleasantly surprised that I did not have to readjust the angles that I have made at all.
  • The Makita LS10161has a built in system that has a main goal and that is to further improve the quality of the cuts that will be made on any material that would need to be cut by the compound miter saw. I have tried cutting a bit sloppily and the cuts that came out still did not look sloppy.

Disadvantage of the Makita LS1016l 10 Inch Dual Slide Compound Miter Saw with Laser

  • Probably the main disadvantage of this model is the fact that it is still uses laser light. While laser can supposedly help people know where the blades are going to cut through, laser light can still be hard to see and pinpoint sometimes. I personally prefer using saws that have LED lights instead of laser lights because the differences are evident.

Dewalt DW717 10 Inch Double Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw

  • One of the advantages of the Dewalt DW717 over the Makita is the fact that it has double bevel which means that adjusting the angles of the miter saws are easier to do. The angles will also be more accurate, making it easy for people to cut the material the way that they like.
  • As compared to the Makita LS1016l, the crown molding capacity of the Dewalt DW717 does not measure up. The Makita model has a molding capacity of 6 5/8 inches while the Dewalt only has a molding capacity of 6 ¼ inch.
  • The blade of the DW717 is powered by a 15 amp strong motor that can be powered up to 4000 rpm. This is much stronger than the power of the Makita LS1016l which can only be powered up to 3200 RPM.

Here are just some of the facts and details to know about the two models. Both models have advantages and disadvantages that will hopefully guide people into choosing which one they should choose. Ultimately, it would depend on what people are searching for and which brand they tend to trust more.
